Hey everyone,
I wanted to start a discussion on something many of us in the design and printing industry deal with regularly Raster to vector conversion.
For those who might be new, raster images (like JPGs, PNGs, or BMPs) are made of pixels. They look fine on a screen, but when you try to scale them up for printing, embroidery, or engraving, the quality drops and the image becomes blurry. That’s where vector conversion comes in. By converting a raster image into a vector format (like AI, SVG, or EPS), the design becomes infinitely scalable without losing clarity.
Some benefits I’ve noticed with Raster to vector conversion:
-
Crisp and clean lines for logos and artwork
-
Perfect for large format printing and promotional items
-
Essential for embroidery digitizing and laser cutting
-
Makes editing much easier compared to raster images
I’m curious to hear from others—what tools or methods do you use for vector conversion? Do you prefer doing it manually with software like Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW, or do you rely on automated tools and services?
Looking forward to your thoughts and experiences!
