When an Older Parent Has a Harder Time With Household Chores

My father has always taken pride in keeping his home neat, so I could tell something had changed when I started seeing chores pile up during my visits. He was still able to take care of himself, but things like vacuuming, changing bed linens, and keeping the kitchen organized were taking more effort than before. When I asked if he wanted help, he initially brushed it off, but eventually admitted that having someone assist with the heavier tasks would give him more time to focus on the things he actually enjoys. Our family started looking into home care Oklahoma City and realized that support can sometimes be centered around specific household needs rather than taking over someone's entire routine. It made me wonder how other families introduce this kind of help without making an older parent feel like they are losing their independence.
