Waiting for Results

Since sending in my job application I have been obsessively checking my email every few minutes. My stomach is in knots and I keep imagining the worst outcome. It is ridiculous because I cannot control the result anyway. Still, the tension will not let up. How to reduce anxiety quickly when you are stuck waiting like this?

Waiting is the worst. I once refreshed my inbox so much after an interview that Gmail thought I was a bot. My chest was tight for days. What helped was setting “check times” (like 3x a day max) and physically putting my phone in another room. I’d also do a quick 5-4-3-2-1 grounding exercise when the spiral started. There’s a short, practical read I liked too: how to reduce anxiety fast — simple stuff you can use right away. The result will come either way; protecting your peace now actually matters.
