Hi everyone, I’ve recently come across the term hematology oncology, and I’m trying to understand what it actually involves in terms of diagnosis and treatment. From what I’ve learned, hematology focuses on diseases related to the blood—such as anemia, clotting disorders, and blood cancers—while oncology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer in general. When combined, hematology oncology specialists manage both blood disorders and cancers, especially conditions like leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma.
