Steelers QB-WR potential dual threat leaves NFL to sign contract in UF

The recently released a player who has spent time in the NFL as both a quarterback and a wide receiver. And at least for now, he'll be taking his talents Darren Ikinnagbon Jersey to the UFL, the ongoing spring football league. The athlete: John Rhys Plumlee. The UFL announced over the weekend that Plumlee has signed with the Houston Gamblers, who are listing him as a quarterback. Plumlee's NFL journey has been fascinating for a guy who has yet to appear in a regular season game. He was a college quarterback at Ole Mi s and then UCF. Because Plumlee hasn't gotten into regular season action, there's no way to know for sure what Pittsburgh may have envisioned. And now that he's left for the UFL, we may never know. Could the Steelers have had themselves a Taysom Hill-type talent on their hands? It seems if something like that was in the cards, they would've at least tried it out at some point. Just as likely is that Plumlee felt he'd have a better chance of keeping a roster spot if he changed positions. Either way, it's a moot point now.
