My A4's CVT is making a whining noise and I'm worried it's failing

So I've got a 2015 A4 1.8 TFSI with the multitronic CVT and I've had it for about four years now with no major issues, but recently I've started noticing this high-pitched whining noise that seems to come from the transmission area, especially when I'm accelerating from a standstill or driving at low speeds. It's not crazy loud but it's definitely noticeable, and it's got me really concerned because I know these CVT units aren't exactly known for their reliability and once they start making noise it's usually not a good sign. The car still drives okay for now, no slipping or jerking or anything dramatic, but I'm worried that if I ignore this it's going to turn into a complete failure and leave me stranded somewhere. I've been reading up on CVT issues and apparently the chain can stretch or the pulley bearings can wear out, both of which are pretty serious and expensive repairs. I took it to a local garage and they said the fluid level was fine and there were no fault codes, but they weren't really sure what the noise was and just told me to monitor it, which wasn't very reassuring to be honest.
