Is SEO Still Effective for Local Businesses in Toronto?

I’ve been wondering how other people are approaching SEO for local businesses in Toronto. The market seems crowded, and simply having a website doesn’t guarantee that potential customers will find it through Google. One thing I’ve noticed is that local visibility appears to depend on several things working together. A well-structured website is important, but so are genuine reviews, useful service information, accurate business details, and content that actually answers the questions customers are searching for.

I’m currently looking into different SEO Toronto strategies and would rather learn from people who have practical experience instead of relying only on generic SEO advice. I’m especially interested in what has worked for smaller businesses that don’t have a huge marketing budget.

For those who have worked on local SEO in Toronto, what gave you the best results? Did you focus on improving existing pages, creating location-specific content, building local links, or strengthening your Google Business Profile? Also, has anyone found that certain SEO tactics are overrated? It would be helpful to hear both the successful strategies and the things that didn’t produce much of a return.
