Is It Normal to Ask a Tattoo Artist About Their Sterilization Process?

I have an appointment coming up, but I am not sure if it is rude to ask too many questions regarding hygiene before the actual procedure can take place. Does a reputable tattoo studio bath normally disclose everything regarding the process of sterilization even before being prompted to do so, or is it something that needs to be done by me? I do not want to seem like I distrust them in any way, but from what I have heard, studios should not have any issues with these questions.
