In harsh environments, such as offshore platforms, desert-based oilfields, or chemical plants dealing with highly corrosive substances, durability is paramount. Multi-bag housings made from 316L stainless steel, duplex alloys, or even exotic metals like Inconel are favored because they can withstand corrosive brines, aggressive acids, or solvent-rich fluids for years without degradation. Their rugged construction allows them to operate reliably under high pressure and temperature conditions, often in excess of 10 bar and 200°C, depending on the design. With proper material selection and sealing systems, they can also handle wide pH ranges and frequent thermal cycling—conditions that would destroy less robust filtration options.
