Ghostwriting Services in the USA: What Should You Look for Before Hiring One?

I’m curious to hear from other writers and authors here—what has your experience been with ghostwriting services in the USA?

I’ve been looking into hiring a ghostwriter for a book project, and there seem to be a lot of different options. Some services specialize in memoirs and autobiographies, while others focus on business books, self-help, fiction, or ebooks. The pricing and process also seem to vary quite a bit.

For me, the most important things would be the writer’s experience, communication, ability to understand the author’s ideas, and the quality of the final manuscript. I’d also want to know how revisions are handled and whether the writer can maintain the author’s personal voice instead of making the book sound generic.
