Does anyone else research local medical facilities before a dive trip?

Hey everyone,
After a close call on a dive trip last year in the Philippines — my buddy got a mild case of DCS and we had a genuinely stressful time figuring out where the nearest hyperbaric chamber was — I've started building a pre-trip checklist that goes beyond just gear and certifications.
One thing I now do before any liveaboard or remote dive destination is look up the nearest hospital and actually call ahead to ask a few questions:
- Do they have a hyperbaric/recompression chamber on-site or nearby?
- Are any of their staff DAN-trained or familiar with dive injuries?
- What's the typical intake process for emergency cases?
It sounds excessive, but it's genuinely changed how I feel about diving in remote areas. On a recent trip to Komodo, I discovered the closest facility with proper emergency infrastructure was a 2-hour boat ride away — which completely shaped our dive plan for deeper sites.
I also came across a travel forum where someone mentioned that larger dive destinations like Sharm El-Sheikh and Cozumel have invested heavily in their healthcare infrastructure, and that some clinics there now use a proper Hospital Management System to coordinate emergency intake, which apparently makes a real difference in how quickly foreign divers get triaged and treated.
Would love to hear how others handle pre-trip medical planning — especially for technical diving destinations. Any go-to resources for locating chambers or dive-friendly medical facilities worldwide?
