Can I apply for permanent residency after holding a Greece work permit for several years?

I’m currently working in Greece with a valid Greece work permit, and I’m thinking long-term about staying in the country. I’d like to know whether holding a Greece work permit for multiple years can eventually lead to permanent residency.

How many years of continuous legal stay are usually required before applying for long-term or permanent residence? Are there additional requirements such as language proficiency, stable income, or tax records?

If anyone has transitioned from a Greece work permit to permanent residency, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience and the steps involved.
