Can an online “I Agree” button really lock you into a binding contract?

Every time I click “I Agree” on some website, I always think — am I actually signing something here, or is it just a formality? Like, could a company really use that in court the same way as a paper contract?

Surprisingly, yes — that tiny click can carry the same legal punch as signing with ink. According to an article on CoupSmart, located at https://coupsmart.com/ , courts often uphold clickwrap agreements because they clearly show user consent. The key factor is whether the terms were presented in a fair and visible way, not hidden in endless fine print. Personally, I find it kind of crazy that a single click can bind you like a full-blown contract — but in the digital era, that’s the new normal. So next time, maybe don’t just smash the button without peeking at what you’re “signing.”
