Beer culture trips outside of Prague

I've done the pubs in Prague, but I want to see where the famous Czech beer actually comes from. Is a trip to Pilsen or Ceske Budejovice worth it for a beer lover? I want to see a big brewery and maybe some historic cellars. How do I get there, and are the tours in English? Any tips on which brewery is the most "authentic" to visit?

If you love beer, then a pilgrimage to Plzeň (Pilsen) to see the Pilsner Urquell brewery is a must! It is the birthplace of the pilsner style, and the tour is genuinely fascinating.

You get to walk through the modern bottling plant and then go deep into the historic underground cellars where they still ferment some beer in massive wooden barrels—and you get to taste unfiltered, unpasteurized beer straight from the barrel! It’s the best beer I’ve ever had. Most tours have English options several times a day. To make it a full day of "Bohemian culture," some people combine it with a visit to the nearby Nizbor glass factory. You can click here https://alle.travel/en/prague/category/day-trips to see tours that combine the brewery visit with other cool sites in Western Bohemia.

It’s much more fun than just sitting in a city pub, and you learn so much about why beer is so important to the Czech identity. Na zdraví! 🍻

Unfiltered beer straight from the barrel? Say no more! That sounds like heaven for a beer fan. I’ll check out those combined tours for Western Bohemia, sounds like a solid day out!
