Art should not require a specialist, a grant writer, or hours of prep. Meet the Masters was built for the reality of elementary and middle schools: crowded schedules, mixed experience levels, and the need for lessons that simply work. The program gives teachers a way to bring art history and studio practice into the week without adding stress.

    Who We Are

Meet the Masters is a team of educators and artists who have spent 40 years refining a K–8 curriculum used in more than 1,000 districts. They write lessons that are fully scripted, standards-aligned, and culturally diverse. Their approach respects teachers' time and students' intelligence. They believe every child can learn to see like an artist—and that the adult in the room does not need to be one to make it happen.

    What We Offer

The curriculum includes 35 masters organized into five tracks, each with age-appropriate projects for grades K–8. Every unit provides an assembly-style introduction, technique worksheets, and a culminating art project. Supply lists are specific and affordable, and lessons are designed to require about 20 minutes of prep. The materials are VAPA-aligned and work whether taught by an art teacher, a classroom teacher, or a parent volunteer.

    When It's Useful

    • A school has no art program and needs to start immediately.

    • A district must meet new state art requirements without hiring specialists.

    • A campus experiences frequent student turnover and needs a portable curriculum.

    • A teacher wants students engaged in meaningful work that also calms the room.

    • A volunteer needs a lesson they can lead with confidence and clarity.

    Why Choose Us

Meet the Masters is different because it removes the guesswork. Teachers do not spend nights searching for ideas; they open a lesson and teach. Students do not make forgettable crafts; they learn technique and history, then create work that reflects both. The program has been the single solution for four very different challenges: 12,000 students needing diverse artists, 3,000 with no prior art curriculum, 15,500 military students transferring mid-year, and 450 facing budget cuts. Across 59 schools and 30,950 students, the results have been consistent—art that fits, and art that stays.

    See the Results

Schools that once had zero art programs now host art walks with hundreds of student pieces. Read their stories to see how Meet the Masters turned obstacles into opportunity.
