A lot of businesses look at ISO certifications as something they need only when a customer requests them, but they can be useful for improving day-to-day operations as well. Whether it's quality management, information security, environmental responsibility, or workplace safety, the standards provide a structured way to identify issues and create more consistent processes.
One thing I've noticed is that organizations that involve their employees throughout the implementation process tend to get better results than those that treat certification as a one-time project. The certificate itself is valuable, but the biggest benefit often comes from the improvements made along the way.
For those who have gone through certification, which ISO standard had the biggest impact on your organization and why?
