A question about car rental

I am planning to travel along the West Coast of the United States next month and spend a couple of days in every city that seems interesting. I will probably start from Seattle and then make my way all the way down to the Mexican border. I would like to rent a car in each city so I can visit the local sights. Are there any rental companies that operate nationwide so I do not have to look for a new provider in every city?
