Bit of a random question but I've been living here for about two years now and finally got a 4x4 because I want to stop being the guy who just tags along on desert trips and actually contribute something. Problem is I don't have any family here who know about cars and most of my friends are just as clueless as me or learned from their dads back home. I've been trying to read up online but half the time I don't even know what to search for. Came across a page the other day while looking for something else where you can find out more information about what actually needs checking before heading into the sand and it was surprisingly helpful because it broke things down without assuming I already know what a diff breather is or whatever. Still though I feel like there's so much I don't know and I don't want to be that person asking dumb questions every time we go out. Anyone else self taught and willing to share how they figured it all out without bothering more experienced people constantly?
